Dr. Karen Holt, Associate Professor in the School of Criminal Justice, has been appointed as a member of the Michigan State University (MSU) Relationship Violence and Sexual Misconduct Expert Advisory Workgroup (RVSM Workgroup).
Formed in 2018, the MSU RVSM Workgroup is made up of faculty, staff, and students who have expertise in relationship violence and sexual misconduct. Members of the workgroup aim to improve the University’s programs, services, and policies related to RVSM and support the MSU Community.
Dr. Holt was selected to serve on the Workgroup by MSU President Guskiewicz due to her extensive research, knowledge, and work to prevent and respond to sexual abuse. Dr. Holt’s research has been published in numerous prestigious academic journals, and her work with Michigan State Police on the Michigan Sexual Assault Kit Initiative has been praised by various media outlets and advocacy groups.
“I am so excited to collaborate with colleagues and leadership across campus and the community to strengthen our efforts to prevent and respond to relationship violence, sexual violence, and sexual misconduct. I am honored to be a part of efforts to make MSU a safer place.”
In addition to her role on the MSU RVSM Workgroup, Dr. Holt serves as the Climate & Engagement Coordinator for the School of Criminal Justice.
