Endowment Giving

Please join us by contributing to the Dae H. Chang International Scholar Invitational Endowment. A gift to the endowment significantly enhances our ability to stay a leader in the criminal justice field.

Dae H. Chang graduated from Michigan State University, with a BA 1957, MA 1958 and a PhD 1962. Dr. Chang began his career as a police officer in South Korea and later pursued a career in academics as an assistant professor of Sociology at Olivet College and retired as a professor emeritus at Wichita State University, Kansas.

The Dae H. Chang International Scholar Invitational Endowment provides support for international scholars to annually visit the School of Criminal Justice giving our students and faculty the privilege of learning from their criminology research. Our students and faculty have had the opportunity to learn from renowned scholars, Professor Shlomo Giora Shoham, faculty of law, Tel-Aviv University, Gloria Laycock the director of UCL Jill Dando, Institute of Crime Science, University College, and Jennifer Wood, associate professor in the Department of Criminal Justice at Temple University.

Zolton Ferency Endowed Scholarship

Zollton Ferency, enrolled in the criminal justice graduate program because he felt that the question of law and order had become a critical political issue in the country. His students came from all majors, the majority from Criminal Justice but others also filled his classroom to learn from his lectures and first hand experiences in the criminal justice arena.

The Zolton Ferency Endowed Scholarship supports undergraduate or graduate criminal justice students based on financial need.

Arthur F. Brandstatter Endowment

Arthur F. Brandstatter served 45 years in education, law enforcement and military service. He earned both his Master’s and Bachelor’s degree at Michigan State University. He was one of the first three graduates in Police Administration. He served as Director from 1947 to 1976.

The Arthur F. Brandstatter Endowment provides Assistantships and Scholarships for criminal justice graduate students.

Louis A. Radelet Graduate Scholarship

Louis A. Radelet a sociologist, anticipated in 1955 the growing issue of “police community relations” a term he coined in two standard textbooks. He devoted years to help desegregate and “humanize” the police. Dr. Radelet joined the faculty in 1963 and later became one of the founders and directors of the National Center on Police and Community Relations at the school.

The Louis A. Radelet Graduate Scholarship provides financial support for criminal justice graduate students.
