The School of Criminal Justice engages in a wide variety of research-based training and technical assistance activities intended to address critical crime and justice problems. These activities involve interaction with local communities, criminal justice agencies, and the private sector in the U.S. as well across the globe.

This reflects Michigan State University’s land- and world-grant mission, first established when MSU became the prototype for the sixty-eight land-grant colleges established under the Morrill Act in 1862.

MSU Center for Cybercrime Investigation and Training

The MSU Center for Cybercrime Investigation and Training is a full-service training hub preparing law enforcement agencies for the increasing threat of cybercrime. Housed in the MSU School of Criminal Justice, the Center provides information and resources to agencies across the state to assist with cybercrime investigations and responses.

In the State of Michigan, the School of Criminal Justice at MSU was designated to be the state Statistical Analysis Center by executive order in 1993 and MSU has served in this capacity continuously since that time.
