Dr. Scott Wolfe, Professor in the School of Criminal Justice at Michigan State University (MSU), has earned the 2026 Faculty Research Award from the MSU College of Social Science.
The College of Social Science reserves its Faculty Research Award for those whose research has made a notable impact on their field of study through peer-reviewed publications, grant funding, and media attention.
Dr. Wolfe has conducted research on the fields of Criminal Justice and Policing throughout his academic career spanning nearly 15 years. Notably, he has been working with Michigan State Police to conduct a multi-year assessment on racial disparities and bias in police traffic stops.
Throughout his career, Dr. Wolfe has published over 80 peer-reviewed articles, has been cited by his peers over 8,000 times, and has received over $3 million in external funding to conduct research. Dr. Wolfe is also the Director of the Michigan Justice Statistics Center, a role he entered in 2022. Dr. Wolfe has supported and included multiple graduate students on research projects and academic articles, advancing research in the field of Criminal Justice and mentoring the next generation of researchers.
