Dr. Nalla Receives Lifetime Achievement Award

Dr. Mahesh Nalla, Professor in the Michigan State University School of Criminal Justice, has received the Cybercrime, Terrorism, and Security Studies Section of the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences’ Lifetime Achievement Award.

The Lifetime Achievement Award is reserved for those who have advanced the areas of security and crime prevention through numerous professional contributions throughout their career. Throughout his career, Dr. Nalla has contributed to the field of Criminal Justice and Criminology through scholarly pursuits, mentorship, and service to the profession.

In addition to his impressive publication record and selfless service to the School of Criminal Justice, Dr. Nalla also launched the School’s Online Master's Program in Criminal Justice. This program is the first online master's program in Criminal Justice in the nation, and the first online degree program offered at Michigan State University.

On receiving the award, Dr. Nalla says, “Receiving the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Cybercrime, Terrorism and Security Studies Section of the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences is both humbling and deeply meaningful to me. My scholarly path has been shaped by the generosity, mentorship, and collaboration of many colleagues and students over the years. I have been fortunate to work with remarkable scholars whose intellectual curiosity and commitment have continually encouraged my engagement with research on issues central to crime and security governance. I am truly grateful for this honor and for the many people who have been part of this journey.”
