This Coursera course is free to enroll in and available to take at any time and at your own pace. Preventing Gun Violence in America Teach-Out was developed in response to two mass shootings in early August 2019. The course features experts from the Firearm-Safety Among Children and Teens (FACTS) Consortium to discuss ways to reduce gun violence and prevention in the United States.

Reducing Gun Violence in America: Evidence for Change

This Coursera course is free to enroll in and available to take at any time and at your own pace. Reducing Gun Violence in America: Evidence for Change was designed to bring together the best evidence and researchers from across the country to present the most recent science related to gun violence.

This free course is designed to demonstrate the scope of gun violence; the role of law and policy at the local, state, and federal level; and utilizing evidence-based programs aimed to reduce gun violence.

Dr. April Zeoli, one of the leading gun violence researchers in the country, is featured in Week 2's lesson "What is the Underlying Evidence for Prohibiting Conditions?" The lesson deals with the evidence base that exists to provide the reasoning for prohibiting certain groups of people from having access to guns. Her segment is titled "The Intersections of Gun Violence, Intimate Partner Violence, and Gun Policy".
