Undergraduate Student Spotlight: Caitie Ladd

January 8, 2021

Caitie Ladd is a Junior at Michigan State University studying Criminal Justice and a member of the Michigan State University Spartan Softball team.

Growing up in Huntington Beach, California, Caitie and her siblings enjoyed life in a beach town. As a student at Los Alamitos High School, Caitie lived and breathed softball. In 2017, she was part of the Los Alamitos team that won the 2017 National Softball Championship.

Caitie came to MSU to play softball and had originally planned to study Business due to her love of math. She looked into Criminal Justice as a possible field of study after being inspired by her aunt who was a District Attorney and her Uncle who is an Appellate Court Judge. During her previous two summers as a Criminal Justice student, Caitie has returned to California to work as a Paralegal at a Civil Law Firm. As a student athlete, Caitie has earned a number of academic accolades, including being named a Big Ten Distinguished Scholar, being selected as an Academic All-Big Ten recipient, and earning the Scholar-Athlete Award.

Going forth, Caitie plans to continue playing softball at MSU and hopes to earn her Masters Degree in Law Enforcement Intelligence Analysis from MSU and a certification in Cyber Security Investigations as part of her graduate studies.
