Emily is a current graduate student in the School of Criminal Justice at Michigan State University and a recipient of the Academic Achievement Graduate Assistantship (AAGA). She graduated from Lander University, a small liberal arts college located in Greenwood, South Carolina, with two Bachelors of Science degrees in Criminology and Sociology and minors in Psychology and Pre-Law. Her current research interests focus on intersectionality and its impact on prisoner reentry, institutional discrimination and racism, and social justice reform.
