Biography

Daniella (she/her/hers) is a third-year doctoral student in the School of Criminal Justice at Michigan State University. Daniella is a RSAC Security Scholar and has received training by VOX-Pol Network of Excellence at Swansea University in Swansea, Wales. Her research examines the intersections of cybercrime, ideology, subcultures, sex crimes, and gender. Currently, Daniella is working on multiple projects including researching the social organization of child exploitation forums on the open and dark web, gendered differences among violent extremists, and adolescent use of the Internet with a particular emphasis on sexual offending and victimization. Her recent work has appeared in Deviant Behavior.

Daniella received a Bachelor of Science in Psychological Sciences and a Bachelor of Arts in Law & Society, each with highest distinction at Purdue University. She is also an alumnus of the Purdue University Joe & Maggie Kernan Experimental Social Science Laboratory in the College of Liberal Arts where she worked under the direction of sociologist, Dr. Trenton D. Mize.
