Dan holds the combined position of U.S. Magistrate Judge and Chief Deputy Clerk in the United States District Court for the District of New Hampshire. He has been selected to assume the position of Clerk of Court in the District of New Hampshire effective January 2014. After graduating from law school, Dan served as a law clerk in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan. He then practiced law as a commercial litigator in New Hampshire, where he frequently appeared in state and federal court as well as presented oral argument before the New Hampshire Supreme Court. He began his career in court administration in the New Hampshire Superior Court, where he worked for eight years prior to joining the federal court in 2002.
Dan received his bachelors degree from James Madison College at Michigan State University, his law degree from Wayne State University, and his credit-bearing masters certificate in judicial administration from Michigan State University.
