Biography

Robert (Bob) Hipple is a Sergeant with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD).  He is currently the supervisor for the homeless/mental health unit as well as the Crisis Intervention Team coordinator.  Over his 21 year career with IMPD, Sgt. Hipple has served as a patrol officer, detective, bicycle officer, SWAT operator, field training officer, crime analysis supervisor, and special projects coordinator. Sgt. Hipple was detailed to a working group to create the Indiana Intelligence Fusion Center (IIFC) and served as the IIFC Operations Commander for two years.

Hipple has a Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice from Indiana University and a Masters in Law Enforcement Intelligence and Analysis (LEIA) from Michigan State University. Bob is a certified Intelligence Program instructor for MSU and was an instructor for the MSU Intelligence Toolbox program. He has been an instructor for the MSU LEIA Masters program since 2011.
