Marva Goodson is a doctoral student in the School of Criminal Justice. Her research focuses on the identity development of delinquent girls, with particular interest in the construction and attainment of possible identities. She is also interested in juvenile justice reform. As the co-founder and director of Youth Advancement Through Athletics (YATA), she trains undergraduate students to provide court-involved Ingham County youth with strength-based interventions that are designed to aid in the reduction of their overall risk scores.
She earned a B.A. in Psychology and M.S. in Criminal Justice from Michigan State University.
