Study by Professor Carter shows no evidence of racial profiling by LPD

Photo of David CarterProfessors David Carter and Joseph Schafer’s (Southern Illinois University) annual study found no evidence of racial profiling by Lansing Police Department in 2016.

They looked at data that included the reason for the stop, driver demographics, and whether a ticket was issued. The study found Lansing police had 41% fewer stops that year.
